Rama on a visit to Montenegro: Joint meeting of two governments in October in Shkodra

Prime Minister Edi Rama met in Montenegro today his Montenegrin counterpart Duško Marković. After the meeting, the two prime ministers gave a joint news conference.

“I am happy at the good news of the U.S. Senate that soon even our neighbour, Montenegro, will become the 29-th NATO member. Albania has done its best so that Montenegro becomes a NATO member. Thus, all the coastal line of the Ionian and the Adriatic becomes NATO area,” said PM Rama at the news conference.

Further on, PM Rama said he was very encouraged by the all-embracing policy of Montenegro for the Albanians. “We have welcomed the agreement reached among the parties here and with the Albanian factor and we believe that the further boost of this agreement is a factor of stability.”

PM Rama also announced the decision, “on holding a joint meeting of the two governments in Shkoder in October, as a cycle of two agreements for putting into operation the economic and social life of our citizens, through exploiting the common opportunities of our citizens and increasing the quality of social life.”

“We remain close neighbours and our road defined in a crystal clear way of being side by side with the countries of the free and democratic world is in function of the future of our children here in Montenegro and further in Albania”, said PM Rama.

While, the Montenegrin Prime Minister Marković stated that, “we need to promote bilateral cooperation. The Albanian community supports Montenegro’s integration into the NATO and makes a significant economic contribution. We shall increase cooperation with the Albanian community in Montenegro. In Shkodra there will be a meeting of the two governments that will enable the ministers cooperate with one another. The foreign ministers will work about preparation of this meeting”
