BELGRADE -- Serbian President Boris Tadić has sent a message to the Serbian Orthodox Church and all believers who celebrate Christmas according to the Julian calendar.
“I wish you a merry Christmas and I wish you to spend it in good health and prosperity and in the spirit of tolerance, understanding and peace. May you celebrate the day of Christ's birth joyously with your families and friends! Peace from god, Christ is born!” the president said in the message.
Tadić will spend Christmas in Kosovo, the president's office has confirmed.
On Christmas Eve, January 6, Tadić will visit Visoki Dečani monastery where he will attend a service on Christmas Day, January 7.
The Serbian president spent Christmas in Dečani last year as well.
